Before you choose equipment
Your quote confirms compatible equipment and included functions. Some controls may use separate apps. Remote access needs working internet and account permissions.
Your accounts stay under your control. We explain who can use each function and how you can change access.
Integration connects specific supported functions between devices. For example, an indoor intercom panel may display a compatible CCTV camera or operate a connected entrance release.
We check the device models, firmware, connection interfaces, network requirements and account permissions for each proposed function. A shared brand or app does not establish compatibility.
Some controls may remain in separate apps or accounts. The quotation defines the connections included, and commissioning tests those functions together before handover.
A local network connects equipment at the property. A switch links wired devices; a router provides the connection between networks and, where configured, the internet.
Compatible Power over Ethernet (PoE) supplies power and data through one Ethernet cable. Cable condition, switch capacity, total power demand and device requirements all matter.
Local recording can continue on a suitably configured system when internet access is unavailable. Remote viewing and app notifications depend on their external connections, so a phone-viewing fault and a recording fault should be checked separately.
Explore everyday examples, see how the equipment fits together and understand what needs checking before you connect it.
