Your property address

Select your full street address so we can check the council boundary.

Use a street number and street name. A suburb or postcode alone cannot confirm your council.

As you type, your address search is sent to Esri for matching; selecting an address also checks its council boundary. This happens before you submit an enquiry. Providers may retain technical request information. Email for a copy of our Privacy Policy, or request a manual check.

02Do you operate a retail or customer-facing business from this property?

For example, a shop or other business premises where customers receive goods or services in person. Owning a business alone does not confirm rebate eligibility.

03Do you hold a valid WA Seniors Card?

Eligibility depends on a valid WA Seniors Card, rather than age alone. Your answers update the result immediately.

Council and household scheme information checked ; individual programs show a separate date where applicable. Business program listing reviewed ; confirm full current conditions with SBDC. Live funding balances are not published for every program.

Address lookups do not create an enquiry. Address matching by Esri; council boundaries from Geoscape Administrative Boundaries, supplied through the Digital Atlas of Australia.

WA Small Business Resilience Program – CCTV Rebate

Help with your business CCTV costs

Qualifying new or upgraded internal CCTV may attract up to 50% of eligible purchase and installation costs, excluding GST, capped at $2,000 per property.

Check your business and system

  • A WA retail or customer-facing business.
  • Fewer than 20 employees, an active ABN and GST registration; the business must be solvent.
  • A qualifying hard-wired internal CCTV system, installed by an appropriately licensed WA security installer.
  • Required property permissions and the program’s current technical conditions.

Alarms and access control are not automatically included. A package may need changes to meet the CCTV specification.

Apply before installation

  1. Check current funding and the full official requirements.
  2. Request an itemised quote and obtain the required program approval before installation begins.
  3. Complete the approved work, pay in full and submit the required evidence within the program’s deadlines.

The proposed system must meet the program’s requirements. A quote does not guarantee approval or reserve funding.

West Protect does not administer or approve the rebate. The Small Business Development Corporation decides eligibility and reimbursement. Confirm any combination with other assistance directly with each administrator.

Government program listing reviewed : advertised open. Detailed SBDC guidance was last checked ; check the official program before purchasing.

A rebate may help with eligible security costs. Your council, household or business circumstances and proposed equipment determine the pathway.

City of Stirling

Advertised open · funding applies

30% for eligible professional installation, up to $500 overall.

2026/27 applications are open for eligible security equipment, including home alarms and CCTV. The installation property must be within the City of Stirling; a suburb name or postcode alone does not establish eligibility.

Before you proceed: Check current funding and equipment eligibility, obtain permissions, then install and pay before claiming.

Key requirements and official terms
  • Eligible purchases must be on or after 1 April 2026. CCTV and home alarms have a $200 minimum qualifying value.
  • Residents and businesses within the City may apply. Mount Lawley, Wembley and Wembley Downs cross council boundaries: only properties within the City of Stirling qualify for this council scheme.
  • Qualifying professional installation attracts 30%. The combined household/application maximum is $500.
  • One claim per household and applicant. A 2025/26 rebate for an item type prevents claiming the same type in 2026/27.
  • Obtain landlord/strata permission before buying or installing. Install and pay in full, then apply with an itemised paid receipt or zero-balance invoice showing the supplier ABN, proof of address and required supporting documents.
  • The official portal closes at midnight, end of 13 June 2027 AWST, or earlier once funding is allocated. Allow 6–8 weeks for processing and payment of successful claims.
  • Ask the City about combining its rebate with state funding before relying on both. West Protect's full invoice is payable; the City assesses and pays approved rebates separately.

Reviewed . Confirm current conditions with the council.

Match the system to the scheme

A package can suit your property without meeting every rebate requirement. Ask for an itemised quote that checks the complete system; any changes affect the quoted price.

Wanneroo: check storage before applying

A 2 TB drive falls below the scheme’s 3 TB minimum. Cameras must also be hard-wired, at least 5 MP, night-capable and show the date and time.

Ask for a suitable storage upgrade, public-facing camera plan and full specification check. Obtain council pre-approval before installation.

Read Wanneroo’s application conditions

Canning: confirm recording and wiring

Round 8 requires at least three hard-wired cameras of at least 4 MP and 21 days of continuous recording. A 2 TB drive alone does not establish that duration.

The home-alarm category requires a hard-wired system. Listed wireless alarm packages need a tailored alternative before this rebate can be considered.

Read the current council form (PDF)
Why storage size is not recording time

Camera count, image quality and recording settings affect how much footage a drive retains. Ask us to assess the recording period and document the proposed equipment in your quote.

WA Seniors Card Safety and Security Rebate

Up to $400 per eligible household

Check your card, household and purchase before relying on the state rebate. Age alone does not establish eligibility.

  • Hold a valid WA Seniors Card when purchasing.
  • Use an eligible WA principal residence matching your card records.
  • Your household, including your partner, has not claimed under the scheme that began on 22 August 2021.
  • Meet the equipment, licence, permission and payment-evidence requirements.

One claim only: the $400 maximum covers the household’s eligible items together. An unused balance cannot be claimed later.

Rentals, retirement villages and other arrangements

Eligible living arrangements have specific definitions. Confirm an unusual household, retirement-village or accommodation arrangement with WA Seniors Card, and obtain any owner or strata permissions.

Check the exact equipment category

These are state seniors limits. Council equipment rules are separate.

Security categories relevant to a West Protect installation.
EquipmentWhat to check
CCTV and home alarmsMinimum qualifying purchase or installation value $200. Up to $400 overall per household. Contractor work requires the relevant Security Agent and Security Installer licences.
Video doorbellsMinimum qualifying value $100; product cap $200 per doorbell, within the household limit. Itemise installation separately and confirm its assessment.
Intercoms and access controlGeneral intercoms and standalone access control are not expressly listed. Ask the administrator about the exact model; a video intercom is not automatically a video doorbell.

Ongoing monitoring and subscriptions are excluded. Eligible repairs have separate requirements. Check the official application and installation notes (PDF).

From quote to separate reimbursement

  1. Check before committing.Confirm household eligibility, the exact equipment and current funding. Obtain any council pre-approval and property permissions first.
  2. Request an itemised quote.Ask West Protect to identify equipment, installation costs and required licence details.
  3. Install, pay and keep evidence.Retain paid tax receipts and the documents required by your scheme. A quote or unpaid invoice is not payment evidence.
  4. Apply through the official process.Submit the required documents to the government or council. It assesses the claim and pays any approved reimbursement.

Send card numbers, identity and bank documents only through the official application process. Seniors Card assistance: 1800 671 233.

Can two programs be used together?

The state seniors terms permit council applications, but the council’s rules also apply. Never add advertised maximums together or deduct an assumed rebate from your installation price.

  • Wanneroo and Victoria Park: their published information allows a separate eligible state rebate application. Each scheme still assesses its own claim.
  • South Perth and Bassendean: restrictions apply to state-scheme participants or WA Seniors Card holders. Check the council entry above before proceeding.
  • Other councils and business funding: confirm permission with each administrator and disclose other assistance before relying on combined support.

Follow each program’s order of steps. For Wanneroo, obtain pre-approval, install within 60 days and provide the required evidence within 14 days of installation.

Common rebate questions

Can renters apply?

Some programs accept tenants with the owner’s written permission. Check your scheme and obtain any landlord or strata approval before buying or installing.

What if my household already claimed?

The current seniors scheme allows one claim per eligible household, including a partner’s claim. You cannot top up a claim below $400 later. A claim under the earlier 2009–2015 scheme does not, by itself, prevent a claim under the current scheme.

Are ongoing fees included?

The seniors rebate excludes monitoring, cloud storage and recurring subscriptions. Keep these separate from equipment, installation and eligible repairs on your quote.

Can an upgrade qualify?

It depends on the program. Some include upgrades; Wanneroo covers qualifying new installations, and Canning excludes improvements, repairs and additions to existing devices. Check the exact work before relying on a rebate.

Does a West Protect enquiry apply for me?

No. We can quote the proposed installation and discuss equipment requirements. You apply through the official government or council process, which assesses and pays any approved claim.

Start with the right installation quote

Tell us your suburb and the security you need. We can discuss the equipment and itemise the work for your chosen rebate pathway.

A West Protect enquiry does not submit or approve a rebate claim.
